Eco Solutions Lombok (“ESL”), the group company managing Tanjung Ringgit EcoRegion, has selected the Jakarta based landscape architect firm Tropica Greeneries to landscape the region which includes the iconic Pink Beach.
“Tropica Greeneries has a unique combination of sustainable landscape services, educational skills and experience of setting up their own nursery”, said ESL’s CEO, John Higson. “Together with Tropica Greeneries and our biodiversity experts we look forward to creating an innovative landscaping design that enhances the biodiversity by creating habitats for a variety of endangered species in and around the development at Tanjung Ringgit.”
ESL chose Tropica because of their extensive experience as landscape architects and contractors, both domestically and internationally. Another decisive factor was that Tropica can educate and certify local gardeners which supports ESL’s aim of creating local employment.
John Higson continued “They share our passion for innovation and integration of biodiversity into sustainable landscape design. It was important for us to find a partner who understands that the nature is our unique asset, and that all development should be embedded in the nature instead of dominating it.”
Tropica’s green solutions can be found all around Indonesia. Included in their extensive list of projects over the past 23 years you find the landscaping of the airports in Jakarta, Bali and Lombok and W Bali in Seminyak.

Ir. Anggia Murni, M.Ars., GP, Principal of Tropica Greeneries, is one of the founders of the Green Building Council Indonesia, and is still active as trainer and director of the Green Product Council Indonesia (GPCI) Rating Tools.
“We are highly interested in collaborating as part of ESL’s team, recognising the company’s dedication to partnering with local communities and authorities to develop an ecotourism destination that prioritises health and wellness tourism, cultural heritage, education, and marine-based experiences”, said Anggia.
Several exciting landscape projects are being planned for the Tanjung Ringgit EcoRegion, for example a park in the Pink Beach area, butterfly roads and a butterfly valley where up to 157 butterfly species will be provided with habitats. To successfully build these habitats and create a diverse ecosystem a biodiversity nursery is planned to be set up in Tanjung Ringgit this year.
“What makes this project especially appealing for us is the unique opportunity to work in a landscape that combines ecological sensitivity, cultural richness, and long-term sustainability goals”, said Anggia and added, “It challenges us to think beyond aesthetics and integrate conservation, education, and community engagement into our landscaping approach. We are inspired by the potential of this project to set a new benchmark for eco-tourism and regenerative development in Indonesia.”
